As per Bobby Manning of Celtics on CLNS, the Boston Celtics have inked a deal with Taylor Funk, who played six college basketball seasons split between Saint Joseph’s and Utah State.
In his most recent season with Utah State, he posted averages of 13.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 45.1% from the field and 37.0% from beyond the arc across 34 games.
Despite going undrafted in June at the age of 25, Funk participated in the NBA Summer League with the Miami Heat.
He has now signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Boston Celtics, as reported by Bobby Manning of Celtics on CLNS via HoopsRumors.

Given that it’s an Exhibit 10 deal, Taylor Funk is expected to participate in Boston’s training camp, and if he doesn’t secure a spot on the main roster, he could potentially join their G League team.
According to Manning, Exhibit 10 deals often include a bonus to incentivize players to stay with the G-League team for a specified period.
Additionally, the Celtics currently have one two-way roster spot available, and DJ Steward, who was signed earlier in the summer, is also in contention for that position.
The Boston Celtics had a standout season as the second seed in the Eastern Conference, boasting a 57-25 record.
They advanced through the playoffs by defeating the Hawks and 76ers in the initial rounds but faced elimination in the Eastern Conference Finals, where they were bested by the Miami Heat in an entertaining game 7 tie.
