The Boston Celtics recalled Jordan Walsh from the G League’s Maine Celtics on Saturday, the team announced.
Walsh, chosen as the 38th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft from Arkansas, has spent a good amount of time in the G League this season.
He made his NBA season debut on Wednesday when they won against San Antonio, and now he’s rejoining the Celtics for their game against Houston on Sunday.
Even though he’s mostly seen as a bench player, Walsh has done well in the G League, averaging 16.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.0 assist, 1.0 steal, and 1.3 blocks per game. He’s shooting 39.8% from the field and 40.8% from three-point range.
In the Maine Celtics’ recent 116-112 loss to the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Saturday, Walsh scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
The Boston Celtics have had a mixed performance on the road lately, with a record of 2 wins and 3 losses in their last five away games.
Getting a win against the Houston Rockets would level their road record to 3 wins and 3 losses in the last six games, possibly rejuvenating their winning momentum last nights’ defeat against the reigning Champions, the Denver Nuggets.
Following the Rockets game, the Celtics face two more road games against the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Miami Heat before returning home to host the Los Angeles Clippers.
