Rookie point guard Scoot Henderson has injected new life into the Trail Blazers since his comeback, as reported by Aaron Fentress of The Oregonian.
Henderson, who recently returned from an ankle injury on November 1, underwent an eye examination revealing the need for contact lenses.
Now donning stylish goggles to secure the lenses, he played a pivotal role in Portland’s 121-105 victory against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.
Henderson shared, “It was just as I’m getting older, even though I’m 19, eyesight changes sometimes. The doctor recommended the contacts and just for protection, the goggles. And they are stylish.”
Dame’s Return
Damian Lillard, who was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks on September 27, is gearing up for a return to his roots after almost two months. The seven-time All-Star will play his former team as the Bucks take on the Blazers on Sunday.
Blazers’ Head Coach Chauncey Billups spoke on coaching against Damian Lillard for the first time, as Sean Highkin notes.
“It’ll be fun. It’ll be weird, though. It’s weird game-planning against him. But it’ll be fun.”
Ayton’s Injury Status :
Blazers’ centre Deandre Ayton, recovering from back soreness, participated in Friday’s practice and is expected to be available for Sunday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Ayton’s return, following a late scratch from Wednesday’s win over the Jazz, would likely impact Duop Reath and Jabari Walker’s roles.
Simons :
Anfernee Simons, after thumb surgery few weeks ago, spoke to reporters today, saying that his hand is improving. Engaging in ballhandling and shooting drills, he is approaching the four-week mark of his six-week timeline.
If progress continues, Simons might grace the court in mid December; otherwise, his return is anticipated early Christmas.
