The Utah Jazz are reportedly looking to trade both Collin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson this summer. In light of this, Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley suggests that the Miami Heat should pursue Sexton to bolster their scoring options.
The Miami Heat don’t need a superstar, but rather someone who can alleviate some of the scoring pressure on Jimmy Butler. Collin Sexton fits this role well.
Since joining the NBA in 2018, Sexton has consistently demonstrated his scoring ability, averaging over 20 points per game in back-to-back seasons. With his name expected to surface in trade discussions, Zach Buckley proposed a specific trade scenario between the Heat and the Jazz.
In this proposed trade, the Heat would receive Sexton, while the Jazz would acquire Duncan Robinson, the No. 15 pick, and the 2026 Lakers second-round pick.
Buckley explained why Sexton would be a valuable addition for the Heat, stating,:
“Sexton could steal a few eyeballs in South Beach, where the Heat could use more perimeter punch and downhill force. His perpetually full-throttle motor would be an easy #culture fit, and he could provide the second team with the scoring boost it lost upon Tyler Herro’s promotion to the opening lineup.”

For Jazz, Buckley wrote:
“While Utah’s interest in this package would revolve around the draft assets, Robinson could be more than a salary-filler. The Jazz need more players who can space the floor for George and Lauri Markkanen to attack, and Robinson’s gravitational pull is powerful.”
The former No. 8 pick is coming off a productive season with the Jazz, averaging 18.7 points per game with a shooting percentage of 48.7% from the field and 39.4% from beyond the arc. Pairing him with other prolific scorers like Herro and Terry Rozier in the backcourt could be beneficial.
Sexton is also entering the third year of a four-year, $71 million contract, making his affordable deal even more attractive to the Heat. This season, the Jazz missed the playoffs, while the Miami Heat were eliminated in the first round by the Philadelphia Sixers.
