Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons has undergone a successful surgery on his right thumb to repair a torn UCL, with the team announcing that he is expected to make a return in approximately six weeks.
Simons had to exit the Blazers’ season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers prematurely due to a thumb injury.
In that matchup against the Clippers, Simons made a notable impact, contributing 18 points, providing four assists, and securing two steals in 27 minutes of play.
With the estimated six-week absence, he is projected to miss 15 games during this period.
During Simons’ time on the sidelines, players like Malcolm Brogdon and Shaedon Sharpe are likely to see increased playing time in the Blazers’ backcourt.
