Colts Sign WR Greg Ward

The Indianapolis Colts are signing wide receiver Greg Ward, as reported by The Athletic’s James Boyd on Wednesday.

Ward, who is 29 years old, initially joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles after playing quarterback at the University of Houston.

Ward’s journey in the NFL started with the Eagles’ practice squad after being cut from the final roster in his rookie season in 2017.

Over time, he secured a spot on the Eagles’ active roster and later signed an exclusive rights deal to stay with the team.

However, after re-signing with Philadelphia, Ward was placed on injured reserve during the preseason and subsequently released with an injury settlement.

He later rejoined the Eagles’ practice squad in October 2022. Before his signing with the Colts, Ward had a workout with the Pittsburgh Steelers in July.

The Colts will kick off their season on September 8th at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
