The Chicago Bulls are planning to keep Zach LaVine on their team for the 2024/25 season, aiming to improve his trade value, which has dipped this offseason, according to Marc Stein of The SteinLine.
The Bulls have a strong motivation to have the worst record possible because their first-round pick in 2025 will go to the San Antonio Spurs unless it is within the top 10.
LaVine signed a five-year, $215 million contract with the Bulls in 2022. He has about $140 million left on his contract over the next three seasons, including a player option for the 2026-27 season worth $49 million, which he is likely to accept given his current market value.
During the 2023 offseason, the Bulls explored trading LaVine but had a high asking price. Last season, LaVine played 25 games, averaging 19.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 34.9 minutes per game.
