Drew Peterson has agreed to a two-way contract with the Boston Celtics, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Recently made a restricted free agent after Boston extended a qualifying offer, Peterson will now stay with the Celtics on a two-way deal. This contract allows him to move seamlessly between the G League and the main team.
Peterson, 25, went undrafted last year after playing two seasons at Rice and three at USC.
During his “super senior” year in 2022/23, he averaged 13.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game, with shooting percentages of .442 from the field, .358 from three, and .752 from the free-throw line across 33 games, averaging 35.9 minutes per game for the Trojans before joining the Miami Heat, and eventually the Celtics.
Last season, he played 34 regular-season games with the G League’s Maine Celtics, where he averaged 16.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.8 assists in 35.4 minutes per game. He helped lead Maine to the G League finals, though they were ultimately defeated by the OKC Blue.
