Kevin Porter Jr. has agreed to a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic. Porter had garnered interest from several teams before finalizing this deal.
Earlier this year, Porter faced legal issues after pleading guilty to reckless assault and second-degree harassment for an incident involving his girlfriend, Kysyre Gondrezick. Following this, he was traded from the Houston Rockets to the Oklahoma City Thunder and subsequently waived.
Finishing the 2023-2024 season playing in Greece, Porter showcased impressive stats, averaging 22.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game over six appearances, averaging 38.0 minutes on the court.
- In other LAC news, the team is actively looking to trade PJ Tucker and Russell Westbrook. They have also shown interest in bringing back Chris Paul, who was recently waived by the Warriors just before free agency began. Additionally, despite declining a qualifying offer to Kai Jones, the Clippers are expected to negotiate a new contract with him to keep him on the roster.
