Denver Nuggets swingman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who recently opted out of his 2024/25 player option to become an unrestricted free agent, is likely to switch teams this offseason, according to Marc Stein of SteinLine.
Stein, who has previously mentioned the Sixers and Magic as potential suitors for Caldwell-Pope, again identifies them as teams well-positioned to pursue the 31-year-old, especially since Denver faces luxury tax and apron issues.
In addition to the Magic and Sixers, the Chicago Bulls are also interested, as reported by Tim Kawakami of The Athletic.
“The Magic, Bulls, and Dallas Mavericks will also go after the two-time NBA champion. The Nuggets reportedly declined to do a sign-and-trade with the Mavs for the shooting guard.”
Stein adds that the Mavericks are another team to watch for Caldwell-Pope, with mutual interest between the two sides. However, since Dallas is over the cap, they would need to arrange a sign-and-trade deal to offer a competitive contract.
