Juan Soto was scratched from the Yankees’ lineup just 20 minutes before the game started against the Blue Jays, the team announced.
According to sources, he sustained a bruise on his right hand last night. The team added that he will have imaging done today in Toronto.
This season, he has been impressive, boasting a .316 batting average, a .429 on-base percentage, and a .553 slugging percentage.
Soto has also hit 18 home runs and driven in 56 runs, establishing himself as one of the team’s key players.
