Thunder Sign New Australian, Alex Ducas, to Two-Way Contract

The OKC Thunder have secured undrafted rookie Alex Ducas on a two-way contract, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Also, Bradley’s Malevy Leons(Netherlands) has reached an Exhibit-10 agreement with the club, according to John Chepkevich of Draft Express.

Hailing from Australia and aged 23, Ducas spent five seasons playing college basketball with Saint Mary’s, from 2019 to 2024. For his last three years with the Gaels, he was a regular starter.

Last season, across 34 games, Ducas posted averages of 9.9 points on 45.3% shooting, along with 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.

He also demonstrated his long-range accuracy, hitting 43.8% of his three-point attempts on 5.4 tries per game. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 220 pounds, he offers impressive size for a guard.

With Ducas joining, the Thunder now have one of their three two-way slots filled. It’s expected that Keyontae Johnson and Ajay Mitchell will occupy the remaining two spots.

Ducas is anticipated to spend most of the next season playing for the OKC Blue, the Thunder’s G League affiliate. The Blue were the G league champions last season, beating the Maine Celtics in the finals.

Short note on exhibit 10 deals:

“A team can have up to six Exhibit 10 contracts simultaneously, with the ability to convert them to two-way deals before the regular season starts, and further convert those into standard NBA contracts; any Exhibit 10 bonus earned by a player assigned to the G League or on a two-way contract doesn’t contribute to the NBA team’s salary cap.”
