Bulls Extend Qualifying Offer to Patrick Williams

The Chicago Bulls have decided to offer Williams a qualifying offer, which means he’ll be a restricted free agent according to Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer.

This allows him to talk to other teams once free agency begins on June 30, but the Bulls can match any offers he gets.

Williams, 22, had his last season shortened due to a foot injury. He averaged 10.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 43 games, playing about 27.3 minutes per game.

The Bulls’ future plans aren’t entirely clear, but Williams is young and fits the profile of a player they might keep around as they potentially rebuild their team.

If the Bulls decide not to match offers, the Toronto Raptors and Oklahoma City Thunder are likely to pursue him.
