Hawks Eye Donovan Clingan as Top Pick

The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly looking to rebuild, and they have their eyes set on Donovan Clingan for the draft. With control of the number one pick, the Hawks are in a prime position to make a significant choice, according to Matt Norlander of CBS Sports.

UConn coach, Dan Hurley, recently gave an interview where he discussed his decision to decline the head coaching job with the Los Angeles Lakers. During the conversation, Hurley also shared some insights into the 2024 NBA Draft.

When asked whom he consulted about making the jump to the NBA, Hurley mentioned several names, including Atlanta Hawks coach Quin Snyder.

Hurley said, “Quin Snyder is a really smart guy who, I know that they (the Atlanta Hawks) really like Donovan (Clingan), so I was able to kind of talk to them about Donovan, but then also to pick his brain in large part.”

With the Hawks holding the top pick, Donovan Clingan, who has mostly been projected to go between the third and seventh picks, is now gaining traction as a potential first or second overall selection.
