Nikola Jokic Still Uncertain about Playing for Serbia at 2024 Olympics

Following a disappointing loss in Game 7 of the Western Conference semi-finals against the Timberwolves, reigning MVP Nikola Jokic is unsure about representing Serbia at the 2024 Paris Olympics, according to Euro Hoops.

Jokic stated that he needs time to contemplate his decision after the Denver Nuggets’ playoff journey came to an end.

Serbia’s head coach, Svetislav Pesic, dismissed reports claiming that Jokic had already committed to playing, labeling them as “fake news.” Pesic mentioned that Jokic will inform Serbia of his decision in due time.

Jokic’s last appearance for Serbia was at the 2022 EuroBasket. He opted out of the 2023 FIBA World Cup following the Nuggets’ NBA title run.

Serbia is placed in Group C at the Olympics, alongside the United States, South Sudan, and the winner of the Puerto Rico Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

The Paris Olympics are set to commence on July 26th, with Serbia scheduled to face Team USA on July 28th.
