Knicks’ OG Anunoby has been out of action since injuring his hamstring in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Indiana Pacers. However, there’s hope that he’s getting closer to making a comeback, although he won’t be playing in Game 5.
In a press conference before Game 5, Knicks’ head coach, Tom Thibodeau, gave a positive update on Anunoby’s injury, mentioning that he’s now doing light workouts on the court.

Anunoby’s absence has been felt, with the Knicks losing the last two games despite starting Precious Achiuwa in his place. His next chance to return will be in Game 6 on Friday, as he’s ruled out for Game 5 at MSG.
On the brighter side, teammates Jalen Brunson and Isaiah Hartenstein are cleared to play, as confirmed by Tom.
The Knicks are facing challenges with Bojan Bogdanović out for the season due to foot surgery, Mitchell Robinson sidelined for six to eight weeks with a left ankle injury, and Julius Randle missing since January.
Despite these setbacks, the Knicks have shown resilience in the playoffs and are just two wins away from reaching their first conference finals since 2000. With the series tied 2-2, they’ll aim to seize home court advantage in Game 5 at MSG.
