Phoenix Suns head coach Frank Vogel says he is very confident that he’ll be back for the 2024-25 season, even in the face of rumors suggesting that his position could be at risk if the team fails to advance past the first round of the playoffs.
When asked if he expects to return for another season, Vogel said, “Very, I have full support of Mat Ishbia,” the Suns owner, before Game 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Despite finishing as the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference with 49 wins in the regular season, the team’s offensive and defensive performance didn’t meet expectations.
Although the Suns ranked 10th in offensive rating and 13th in defensive rating, their offensive output was disappointing given the talent of players like Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal.
On the other hand, their defensive rating exceeded expectations, likely due to Vogel’s defensive coaching background. Nevertheless, the Suns’ inconsistency on both ends of the court throughout the season and playoffs has raised doubts about Vogel’s job security.
While they’ve shown flashes of competitiveness in stretches, they’ve also struggled significantly, especially evident in their recent games against the Timberwolves.
Vogel’s job status became a topic of discussion ahead of the elimination game, with reports from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski suggesting that his position could be in jeopardy if the Suns are eliminated.
