The dissatisfaction among fans reached a peak during Friday night’s Game 3, as some started leaving early in the third quarter and a small group even chanted “Fire Vogel!” at the Footprint Center.
The Suns find themselves in a dire situation, trailing 3-0 in their first-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves after a 126-109 loss on Friday night.
Despite the team’s struggles and the daunting 0-3 deficit, Vogel remains optimistic, believing they can still turn things around and win the series in seven games.
Bradley Beal also added to that, saying he has never been swept in his career. However, history is not on their side, as no NBA team has ever overcome a 3-0 series deficit, with teams holding a 151-0 record in such situations.
The decision to hire Vogel came after the Suns parted ways with Monty Williams at the end of the 2023 season, despite his success in leading the team to three consecutive playoff appearances, including the 2021 NBA Finals.
Vogel, who previously guided LeBron James and the Lakers to the 2019-20 NBA championship, was brought in but now finds himself under intense scrutiny. Mat Ishbia, the Suns’ owner since 2023, was present courtside during Friday’s game, witnessing the team’s struggles firsthand.
