6:50 PM : Sources – Both Joel Embiid & Tyrese Maxey have been upgraded to available and are expected to suit up tonight.
6:25PM : For Game 2 tonight against the Knicks, both 76ers star duo Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey are game-time decisions due to knee and illness concerns, respectively.
Maxey is testing his condition during pregame warm-ups at MSG, with Embiid set to follow suit, head coach Nick Nurse tells reporters.
Despite Embiid’s impressive performance in Game 1, scoring 29 points with eight rebounds and six assists, he left the game late in the second quarter after an awkward landing on his left leg.
He did return after halftime, but concerns linger over his knee, especially after a previous tweak on April 12. However, Embiid remains confident in his ability to play through discomfort, emphasizing the structural integrity of his knee.
While Mitchell Robinson poses a challenge defensively for Embiid, his impact on both ends of the floor was evident, contributing to Philadelphia’s competitiveness throughout the game.
As per Keith Pompey of Philly inquirer, Tyrese Maxey says he hopes to play tonight; however, Nurse has the final say. Game 2 of the playoffs tips off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
