Jason Kidd Provides Update on Luka Doncic’s Injury

Dallas Mavericks star player Luka Doncic might not be able to suit up against the Thunder on their next road trip due to a left hamstring injury.

During their recent win against the Golden State Warriors, Doncic had to leave the game early because of soreness in his left hamstring.

The Mavericks’ coach, Jason Kidd, said Doncic signaled to him about his tight hamstring, so they took him out of the game.

Doncic scored 21 points, had nine assists, and grabbed three rebounds before leaving the game, ending his streak of getting triple-doubles in seven consecutive games.

He went to the locker room in the fourth quarter and didn’t return to the game. The Mavericks managed to hold onto their lead against the Warriors, with Kyrie Irving leading the charge with 23 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds.

Daniel Gafford also contributed with 10 points, seven blocks, and six rebounds. The Mavericks are set to play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night, but it’s uncertain if Doncic will be able to play due to his recent injury.

Coach Kidd added that they’ll have a better idea about Doncic’s status closer to game time. As of now, it’s unclear if Doncic will even travel with the team to Oklahoma City.

Doncic has been having an outstanding season, averaging 34.3 points, 9.8 assists, and 9.0 rebounds per game in 58 games played.

If Doncic is sidelined against the Thunder, his next chance to play will be against the reigning champions, the Denver Nuggets, in Dallas.
