Raptors Make Three Roster Moves

G League forward Mouhamadou Gueye will return to the Raptors on a two-way contract, replacing Markquis Nowell who has been released as per The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Also, the Raptors plan to sign guard Jahmi’us Ramsey to a 10-day contract.

Gueye, aged 25, recently signed a 10-day deal with the team and played in one game. He had initially joined the team’s training camp on an Exhibit 10 contract but was waived before the season began.

Gueye has been playing for the Raptors 905 and has been performing well, averaging 14.0 points and 8.7 rebounds in 21 regular season games. This is his second season in the G League after playing with the Texas Legends last year.

Following D.J. Carton’s recent signing to a two-way deal, the Raptors had occupied all their two-way slots, necessitating an additional move before finalizing Gueye’s contract, resulting in the release of Nowell. Additionally, Jontay Porter also holds a two-way contract.

As for Ramsey, a former second-round pick in 2020, he spent one season playing college basketball at Texas Tech. He was with the Kings for his first two NBA seasons before being waived in February 2022.

Ramsey has played for the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder’s G League affiliate, for the past two seasons. He has shown promising stats, averaging 20.6 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 3.6 APG, and 1.1 SPG in 30 Showcase Cup and regular season games during the 2023/24 season.

Toronto has an available spot on its standard roster, so they can add Ramsey without releasing any players.
