Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker is expected to be sidelined for at least another 7-10 days due to a right ankle sprain he suffered Saturday night, as reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Booker sustained the injury during the latter part of Saturday’s matchup versus Houston when he and his teammate Royce O’Neale became entangled on the defensive end. Immediately after, Booker made his way to the locker room to have his ankle examined, and coach Frank Vogel confirmed that the X-rays yielded negative results.
On Sunday, Booker was sidelined as Oklahoma City orchestrated a late comeback to secure victory in Phoenix. Charania highlights that the Suns boast a record of 31-19 with Booker on the court this season, contrasting with a 4-7 record in his absence.
This week, Phoenix is scheduled to compete thrice, starting with a trip to Denver on Tuesday, followed by a home game against the Raptors on Thursday, and a clash with the Celtics on Saturday. While Booker may potentially return for Monday’s game in Cleveland, if he remains sidelined for ten days, his comeback would be delayed until the following Thursday in Boston.
Every game matters for the Suns without Booker because they’re fighting to avoid the play-in tournament. Booker has played in most of the team’s games and is a top scorer in the league, averaging 27.5 points per game while boasting shooting percentages of 49.4% from the field and 37.9% from beyond the arc
