Guard D.J. Carton has rejoined the Toronto Raptors on a two-way deal after his 10-day contract expired earlier this week, as announced by the team today.
Carton has primarily played in the G League since going undrafted from Marquette in 2021. After a season with the Greensboro Swarm, he spent the last two seasons with the Iowa Wolves, the Minnesota NBAGL affiliate.
In 29 games this season with Iowa, Carton averaged 18.6 points, 5.7 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game in 35.4 minutes.
His performance led to a 10-day stint with the Raptors starting on February 21, where he played two games, scoring eight points and dishing out two assists in 11 minutes.
The Raptors made room for Carton by promoting Javon Freeman-Liberty to a standard contract, leaving Markquis Nowell and Jontay Porter as the team’s other two-way players.
With Carton’s signing, Toronto now has filled 17 of its 18 total roster spots, leaving one standard spot open.
