The Philadelphia Sixers are signing guard Jeff Dowtin under a two-way contract, as reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
This move comes after the team freed up a two-way roster spot by waiving Kenneth Lofton on Friday.
Dowtin, aged 26, has seen action in 34 NBA games since the 2021/22 season, representing the Warriors, Bucks, Magic, and Raptors.
He gained significant experience last season with the Raptors, where he showcased an average of 2.4 points and 1.2 assists, leaving a favorable impression.
While his NBA contributions have been modest, Dowtin has demonstrated greater effectiveness in the G League over his career.
This season, he has been competing for Philadelphia’s G League affiliate in Delaware, putting up impressive numbers with averages of 17.1 points, 5.4 assists, and 2.9 rebounds.
He has also exhibited solid shooting percentages of 47.5% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc in 17 regular season and Showcase Cup appearances.
Dowtin now joins Ricky Council IV and Terquavion Smith as the two-way contract players for Philadelphia.
Additionally, the Sixers have two vacant standard contract positions following the expiration of Darius Bazley’s 10-day contract on Thursday.
