Toronto Raptors Reportedly Looking to Trade Bruce Brown – Insider

Raptors’ recent addition, Bruce Brown, had his first game on Thursday, but his time with the team might be ending soon, even though it just started.

According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, the Toronto Raptors are planning to trade Brown, who they got in the Pascal Siakam deal with the Indiana Pacers, before the February 8 deadline for making deals.

“There is a strong belief already bubbling leaguewide that the Raptors will move newly acquired Bruce Brown before the buzzer sounds,” reports Stein. “Toronto can’t aggregate Brown’s contract with any other players in a follow-up trade, but Brown’s contract (which pays out $22 million this season before a $23 million team option next season) alone is extremely trade-friendly.”

Bruce Brown, fresh off winning a championship with the Denver Nuggets, signed a $45 million, two-year contract with the Pacers this summer.

According to sources, the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers are teams to watch regarding Brown.

Despite being with the Pacers just two days prior, the 27-year-old scored an impressive 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds in his Raptors debut against the Chicago Bulls, making 7-of-10 shots.

In his 33 games with Indiana, he averaged 12.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists, shooting 48 percent overall and 33 percent on 3-pointers.

Throughout his NBA career with the Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, Nuggets, Pacers, and Raptors, he holds averages of 8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
