Santi Aldama, who has been sidelined this season due to a lingering ankle problem, is set to make his season debut in Sunday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers, HC Taylor Jenkins confirms.

With Steven Adams out for the season, Aldama is poised to secure a substantial role in the team’s rotation.

The Memphis Grizzlies are still searching for their first win this season, starting 0-6 in the absence of Ja Morant.

Although Morant’s nonattendance is a significant factor in their winless start, there have been instances where they should have won games that slipped away late.

In their previous encounter with Portland, the Grizzlies appeared to be on the path to victory in regulation, but a lack of execution on both ends allowed the Trail Blazers to force overtime and ultimately secure the win.

Recognizing that it’s a lengthy season, the Grizzlies aim to reverse their fortunes and regain momentum before Ja Morant’s return after serving a 25-game suspension.

As for the Trail Blazers, they will be missing Scoot Henderson, Anfernee Simons, and Ish Wainright, while Toumani Camara has been upgraded to game time decision
