Jaylin Williams, who was dealing with a hamstring issue, has been given the green light to participate in the Thunders’ in-season tournament opener against the Golden State Warriors.
He was initially listed as questionable in the early hours of Friday but has now been officially cleared to play.
Interestingly, just two days ago, he was assigned to the Oklahoma City Blue, the G League affiliate of the Thunder, as part of his rehabilitation process.
However, what’s noteworthy is that he was swiftly recalled within a mere four hours, signaling his readiness to rejoin the Thunder.
In his rookie season last year, the 21-year-old emerged as the starting center for the Oklahoma City Thunder, narrowly missing a playoff spot by just one win.
Over the course of 49 games, he maintained averages of 5.9 points and 4.9 rebounds, showcasing an impressive 40.7% accuracy from beyond the arc on 2.3 attempts.
Kenrich Williams (Back), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Knee), and Keyontae Johnson (Two-Way) continue to be sidelined. In contrast, the Golden State Warriors are in good health, with no injuries affecting their roster.
