The Toronto Raptors have issued an injury update on OG Anunoby, and he’s marked as “questionable” for the game against the Philadelphia Sixers, as per Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.
Anunoby had to leave Friday night’s game during the late fourth quarter due to muscle cramps and was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of that game.
It was evident that Anunoby was in considerable discomfort as he struggled up and down the court before exiting on Friday. He was promptly taken to the locker room for an evaluation by the team’s medical staff.
Anunoby had previously been coping with cramps in Toronto’s first game of the season, but he managed to play through the pain against Minnesota.
Toronto will depend on Anunoby for the Saturday clash with the formidable 76ers. In the event that he can’t participate, the Raptors are likely to start either Gary Trent Jr. or Precious Achiuwa, further thinning their already less-than-impressive bench.
The only other absence for Toronto is Christian Koloko, who continues to grapple with ongoing respiratory issues.
Anticipate the Raptors employing a more extensive rotation on Saturday, considering it’s the second night of a back-to-back, following their overtime battle against the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
Chris Boucher is expected to get playing time despite not being part of Toronto’s rotation in the season opener.
On the 76ers’ side, James Harden remains unavailable, as he’s away from the team. He will be the sole prominent player missing for Philadelphia.
The Raptors face off against the 76ers tonight, coming off a close contest against the Chicago Bulls that was decided in overtime.
