Hornets’ Kai Jones Denies Rumors of Drug or Alcohol Use During Instagram Live

Kai Jones, a forward for the Charlotte Hornets, decisively dismissed any apprehensions raised by fans regarding his state during a recent Instagram live session, assuring them that he was not under the influence of any substances.

Charlotte Hornets forward Kai Jones attracted significant attention when he appeared on Instagram live a few nights ago, expressing his confidence that the team wouldn’t trade him. This led to speculation that he might have been under the influence that night. However, he took to Twitter to address these suspicions and firmly deny them.

Kai Jones used his X (formerly twitter) account to set the record straight, explaining that he wasn’t under the influence of drugs or alcohol; instead, he was simply enjoying his evening at home and believed that some people were overreacting.

Kai Jones embarks on his third NBA season, having been drafted 19th overall in 2021 by the Hornets. However, his court time has been limited during his initial two seasons in Charlotte.

During his rookie year, he participated in just 21 games, averaging a mere 1 point, 0.5 rebounds, and 0.2 assists in three minutes per game, as reported by Basketball Reference.

In his sophomore season with the Hornets, Jones experienced a noticeable increase in playing time, averaging 12 minutes per game across 46 appearances. His stats improved to 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds, according to Basketball Reference.

The Hornets find themselves in an intriguing position, aiming for a return to the playoffs with a core roster featuring talents like LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, PJ Washington, Gordon Hayward, and others.

The team’s future prospects hinge on the development of LaMelo Ball and the potential growth of Brandon Miller, which adds an element of uncertainty to their journey.

As they move forward, the Hornets possess the pieces that could potentially propel them into the competitive realm, with Brandon Miller holding the promise of becoming a standout player.
