76ers’ Joel Embiid Ruled out vs Timberwolves

Philadelphia Sixers star and reigning MVP, Joel Embiid, won’t be gracing the court in tonights away match against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

This setback on the second night of a back-to-back is attributed to lingering discomfort in his left hip, as per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Last week, Embiid faced uncertainty about playing in three back-to-back games due to a recurring hip problem, but he didn’t miss any games despite feeling less agile on the court.

Despite this, he’s currently the NBA’s top scorer with 31.9 points per game, along with impressive stats in rebounds, assists, and blocks.

In Embiid’s absence, the Sixers will likely rely on Paul Reed and Mo Bamba to handle the Timberwolves’ formidable lineup, led by KAT, ANT and Rudy Gobert.

Marcus Morris Sr. and Nicolas Batum are also potential small-ball center options. After Wednesday’s showdown, the Sixers’ next game is on Saturday against the Oklahoma City Thunder and Embiid is likely to make a return for this matchup.
